Carlee Jane has FINALLY arrived!!!

Happy Birthday Carlee!!!

Yes, Carlee has finally graced us with her presence! Saturday night I started feeling a few contractions and waited to see if they would remain constant... they did. So we decided to drive to the hospital at 1am in the morning. When we got there, at first they said, "well, ten minutes apart is still pretty far apart." But I told them how our doctor had said to come in anyway since I was so far progressed in the labor process already. They were surprised to find out I was already dilated 5cm with a "bulging waterbag," and said, "wow, if you'd of come in last week we would of kept you. Yeah, you're not going anywhere tonight."

So... they admitted us, and I was in my room by 3:30am and they started an i.v. with a drug to progress the contractions. They also gave me a drug for the pain, and asked if I wanted an epidural. At first I said no, because I have only heard bad things about them. So, they had the anesthesiologist come in and talk to me about them and answered all of our questions and really set my mind at peace. The contractions I was feeling during this whole conversation really convinced me... :) so I decided to go ahead and have it done. It wasn't bad at all, not anything what I had heard or expected, and afterwards the labor was smooth sailing! I ended up pushing for actually about thirty minutes, and at some points as Tony put it, "Carlee was practically trying to crawl out of there!"

So she was born at sunrise on Sunday morning at 6:36am weighing a whopping 8lbs 9oz!!! and is 20.5 inches long!!! all her daddy's fault because those are very similar to his measurements as a baby. I'm so lucky to have had a fairly good labor with her being that big, and Tony was such an awesome supporter during the whole experience!
