happy birthday Carlee!!!

ONE YEAR OLD!!!! WOOHOO!

Carlee had her one year checkup today and it went good. She's up to a little over 23 pounds and again I didn't look at the height. She's in the 75th percentile for weight, height and noggin measurements. Doctor said she's doing great, healthy all the way around. I have decided to wean her from nursing since we did the full first year like recommended, and now she'll drink either formula or we can switch her to cow's milk, but we haven't decided yet. She got four shots today :( and will have to go back in three months for the booster of one or two of them, then she'll go again at 18 months for her next checkup/immunization. She's doing good and enjoying all her new toys from her party. :D

1st Bday pics

Carlee's first birthday party was a blast!!! She was so good and had so much fun! There was a great turnout with all of our friends and Grandpa and Grandma Beck drove all the way from D.C. to join in the festivities. Her big birthday cake was Madagascar and she went after her little cake like a pro! She gulped down about half of it before Mommy took it away lol. She loved all the attention and had so much fun opening her presents! Thanks everyone!!!! We visited, ate, and swam! It was so much fun! Here's a few pics, I'll post a link to all of them later after I send out some invites to the site I use.

Morning Game

This was from Sunday the 14th. Carlee and Daddy played Xbox after they woke up. She's so cute with the controller, she grabs it and pushes buttons with her pointer finger and then looks at the tv to see what it does. Fast learners, aren't they? :D

I forgot to tell everyone... Carlee said "HI" back on Friday, at Daddy's farewell dinner. !!! yay!!! Now, she's been saying it nonstop. She waves and says, "Hi!" "Hi!" Hi HI HI HI.. lol she's so cute. Last night we had another farewell dinner, and in the middle of taking a picture with friends, she said "Hi" and everyone said, "YAY" and started clapping. The noise was too loud and all of a sudden so it scared her. LOL. She was so cute. :)

1st ponytail

I know I've been slacking on taking pictures, so I snapped a few today after little Carlee let me put a ponytail in her hair for the first time today. :D It's really barely long enough, and her hair is still really fine and doesn't make a very big ponytail, but it's so darn cute! lol. I think I might do her hair like this for her birthday pictures.

overdue update

Hi everyone! I haven't written in quite a while what Carlee had been up to... Well, let's see. She still isn't walking more than a few steps to get to something such as the couch. She's still pretty happy crawling/bear crawling and cruising around. She loves books even more now! She loves flipping through the pages, and she "talks" each time she turns the pages as though she's telling us what she sees. For about the past two months, she's been fascinated by faces. She's constantly poking our eyes, pushing a finger in our mouth or nose, or grabbing at our face. Her balance has improved a lot over the past few months. She can stand for quite a while now, and she can also go from standing to squatting and back again a few times without falling down. She is now eating toddler food that's good for picking up. She loves the gerber toddler ravioli and the shells and cheese. :) I've also been giving her smushed fresh fruit. She really enjoys feeding herself nowadays. She hasn't used her baby signs anymore. I've been trying to teach her some new ones, like fish, hat, eat/food, cat, and dog, but she hasn't made the connection yet. :) Her baby potty training is going okay. She sits on the potty when I put her on, and she'll sit for a few minutes, but she has yet to go potty on it. But it's okay, as long as she gets used to it, and isn't scared of the potty. Her one year check up is on her birthday, so we'll see then how much she's grown. Let's see... I guess that's pretty much all for now. :D
