playful thursday

Carlee was in a very playful mood today. She quickly grabbed the mattress cover after I took it out of the dryer and started playing her "where are you?" game. She would hide, and say, "mama! wer awre yyooo?" (trying to portray Carlee talk here, lol) She kept busy with this for a good few minutes, before finally getting distracted by the cats. Then she went on to play doctor, which I think she was excited about since she had just been to the doctor. She remembered she had doctor toys to play with!

On that note, her doctor's appointment went great. She was up to date on her shots, so no pain for Carlee on her birthday. :) They finally listened to me and put her on allergy medicine. So she should not be sneezing and having a runny nose as often. ahem, thank goodness! She was even really chatty at the doctors, which was unusual.

She's starting to talk in a few sentences, AND she's learning a few words in Spanish (thanks to Dora) and Italian (well, thanks to living here.) hehe. In Spanish, she'll say Hola! and Vamenos, which sounds more like BaamnOOOs. lol. We actually never talk to her in Italian, mainly because we're just starting to pick it up better ourselves, but when the Italian workers came over the other day, one looked at her and said, "Ciao, bella!" and she looked at him, waved and said "Ciao!" I was so surprised. We never say ciao to her, always hello, but now we're starting to say both. It's amazing how fast they pick things up. She'll also say grazie of course not as clear, but still. And the amount of English of course has gone way up. She's gone from hardly talking to talking all the time. Kids are just so incredible!

eating pb&j in a new way

So I'm really enjoying being able to show ya'll some of the things that Carlee does in video now instead of just pictures. She did this yesterday. Sorry about the sound being off... I uploaded it twice to youtube and it did this both times. It's normal on my computer, so I don't know what's going on. Oh well. And try to ignore her coughing, she's still got that cold. :( But she's funny none the less.

Dr. Phil says to choose your battles. I decided not to even fight her on this one, and just let her keep them on. Don't worry, they were a clean pair. :D Enjoy!

Hey Mon!

Carlee was being silly today after her nap. She wanted to wear both her winter hats, I guess maybe because she hasn't gotten to wear them much since it's not too cold here. We were laughing so hard because she looked like she had one of those dreadlock caps on... lol :P

Big Girl

She absolutely loves walking around in my shoes. It's so funny. This day she walked around in these for a good 10 minutes. hehe. I can't wait to start getting dress-up stuff for her. :P

This day we went to the park to play with Carlee's friend. It was really hot, it didn't feel like fall at all. But the kids had fun playing anyway. I loved this picture.

Carlee loves her new pillow! She got it in the mail, and it's just her size and she's been so cute laying on it and carrying it everywhere. Thankyou Grandma and Grandpa Beck! :D
She's so sweet. There's even hand embroidered teddy bears on the other side, they're so cute!

steam cleaning

Today we steam cleaned the living room carpet and Carlee wanted to help so badly! She was trying to help Daddy push the steam cleaner, it was so funny. Then she'd try to help Mommy hold the wire out of Daddy's way. We were suprised she wasn't scared of how loud it was. Her confidence level has definately gone way up. In the second picture you can see how tall she's gotten compared to Daddy. :)

PS: The blue thing she's wearing is her harness. lol.. we're getting her used to it for when we start traveling and sight seeing, so she'll be able to walk a bit on her own. We call it her "ribbons" and she loves wearing it around the house. Which we're happy about. :D

Coloring Carlee

Today there was supposed to be an arts and crafts playgroup, but we couldn't get inside the rec center. So, we decided to meet at the park. Well, it was all wet, it looked like it was supposed to rain, AND we missed the other moms and kids we were supposed to meet... So, we decided to just go back to the house and color with the two kids that were with us. This was when Carlee's nose very first started running... :(

Today Carlee decided to help me do the laundry.... thank goodness these were clean haha... she stole them from the folded basket and then tried to put them on like a shirt. lol... so I ran to grab the camera and got a few shots, this was the best one. Most of them are of her back, I think she thought I was chasing her to take them away...
Other Updates... Carlee will lay down anytime I say, "Do you need a diaper?" She's been doing that for a few weeks now. I'm so proud of her! and she knows the word PARK. The other day, I asked Daddy, "Do you want to take her to the park?" and two seconds later she was at my legs with her sandals in her hand! hehe. She just used the baby sign for flower today for the first time without being promted to! We were in the front yard coming back from the park, and she sniffed her nose when we were standing by our flowers. Yay! She now uses the dog, duck, fish, more, all gone, and flower signs at the right time without being told to. We've been trying to introduce "scared" "eat" "book" and "drink" into her vocabulary but nothing yet. She's also getting really good at getting dressed, she likes to put her legs and arms in by herself! And she always offers her feet for socks and shoes. The teething is getting a little better. Tooth #5 finally broke through a couple of days ago... Now we're waiting on the other two that we could see right under the gum line... But at least she's not as fussy and obviously not in as much pain. And... I think that's about all that's new. :)

Super Toddler!!!

Sorry for the crude paint job... lol... Mommy's in the background, still in pajamas too, making pancakes... and lets just say it's not her greatest picture. LOL... but Carlee's just too cute in this one to not post it somehow. So here she is.. no longer Super Baby... but Super Toddler!!! woohoo! She had fun carrying around daddy's nunchucks too... and swinging them around. She's a pro. haha...

Today's Moms' Club playgroup was a fingerpainting playgroup! woohoo! At first, Carlee was a little hesitant, but after some encouragement from mommy, she finally Let Loose!
